Significant Shift for JDU as Sanjeev Shyam Singh Joins Jan Suraaj

In a major development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Janata Dal United (JDU) has faced a significant setback. Senior party member and former legislative councilor Sanjeev Shyam Singh has officially joined the Jan Suraaj Party, where he will contest from the Gurua constituency.

Just a day prior, Singh resigned from his primary membership in JDU, citing neglect and disregard from the party leadership.

What Did Sanjeev Shyam Singh Say About Leaving JDU?

After aligning with Jan Suraaj, Singh launched a scathing critique of his former party. He stated, 'I resigned from the party yesterday. The JDU is no longer what it used to be. The direct communication that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar once had with party workers is now absent. Certain elements have taken control of the party.'

He further expressed, 'I see no reason to remain in this party. It has become stagnant.' Singh accused some individuals of exploiting Nitish Kumar's declining health to seize control and steer the party in a different direction.

Singh praised Prashant Kishor as the only honest leader committed to societal progress, expressing hope that Kishor would contribute to the state's development.

Election Dates Announced

The Bihar Assembly elections will take place in two phases across 243 constituencies on November 6 and November 11. The counting of votes and results will be declared on November 14.
